OpenOffice.org Version 1.1.2 Ready for Download

Monday June 21, 2004
OpenOffice.org just released the latest stable version of its office suite. OpenOffice includes a word processor, a spread sheet, a presentation authoring tool, drawing and illustration tools, as well as database tools and other components. If you are familiar with other office suites, such as Microsoft Office, you will have no problems using OpenOffice. You can even use the same files and exchange files with people who still use Mircosoft Office. Additionally, OpenOffice has a lot of extras that make life easier. E.g., you can publish your documents in PDF format, and graphics in Flash format without additional software. Translations into more than 30 languages have been produced. The latest release includes Czech, Danish, French, German, Japanese and Slovak. The Font00o Autopilot for downloading fonts has also been included. OpenOffice also happens to be free. More than 16 million people have downloaded it so far. Check it out here.
