Most Developers Use Eclipse

In a survey by BZ Research 13% of respondents said that all developers in their organization use the integrated development environment (IDE) "Eclipse". 16% indicated that most developers use it, 25% said it is used by less than 50%, and 43% suggested it is not used at all in their organization. 69% of respondents further indicated that some developers in their organization use Visual Studio or VS.NET. Borland’s JBuilder is used by 29%, and Sun’s NetBeans or BetBeans-based tools are used by 18%. Respondents indicated Eclipse is being used because it is "open source" (66%), because it is free (60%), and because it is extensible (54%).
