Arch Linux: Simple and Fast

Advanced Linux users, or interested beginners, with a preference for simplicity, speed, and stability might want to take a look at Arch Linux, an i686 optimized Linux distribution. It provides maximum control and facilitates manual setup. Arch Linux’s package list is relatively small, but the package manager is fairly advanced and checks dependencies. Underscoring its simplicity, Arch Linux allows you to upgrade the complete system with just one command. Rarely used parts, such as /usr/doc and the info pages were left out, as such information can be easily obtained from the internet if needed. Arch Linux does use some of the newer Linux features such as ext3/reiserfs and devfs support, and the default kernel of Arch Linux 0.6 (Widget) is version 2.6. Read more...
