Embeddable Database For Embeddable Linux

The standard Linux kernel, on which most Linux distributions are built on, has been designed around the Intel x86 microprocessor architecture. ARM Linux on the other hand is a version of the Linux kernel developed for ARM processor based machines, which are particularly well suited for small, portable devices. The compact design and resource-limited nature of such devices require similarly compact operating systems, software applications, and database systems, such as db.*, a small-footprint, open source database, recently ported to ARM Linux by ITTIA. Features of db.* include the ability to optimize memory requirements, battery life, heat reduction, and processing speed. Read more…
