The popular HTML editor Quanta will soon be available from KDevelop in the form of a set of plug-ins. KDevelop is an integrated software development environment for KDE, supporting all major programming lanuages, including C/C++, Java, and Perl.
Quanta’s developers, Andras Mantia and Jens Herden have started to split the code into several plug-ins which can be flexibly loaded into KDevelop, while keeping the option to run Quanta as a stand-alone application. By coordinating their efforts, KDevelop’s and Quanta’s developers will be able to eliminate duplications and more easily share functions between the projects. The plug-in based version will be included in KDE 4.0.
