Which Linux Distro Is Most Popular?

According to a recent survey of Focus on Linux visitors, Mandrake/Mandriva Linux appears to be the most widely used Linux distribution, followed by Suse Linux and Fedora. 17.9% of the respondents indicated Mandrake/Mandriva as their Linux distro of choice, 16.2% chose Suse Linux, and 11.1% selected Fedora. According to our survey, the most popular Linux application is Firefox, with 47.9% of the respondents using it, followed by OpenOffice, with 31.6%, and Thunderbird with 12.0%. With 24 countries represented so far, most of the 114 responses come from the United States, followed by Australia and the United Kingdom. For more information see here. ????? what is your source? … what about ubuntu?. i worked as a computer technician in HP/Toshiba/LG/DLINK/BAGOH/ETC official service(Argentina) for two years. and believe me.. i saw more ubuntu’s than any other distro..

Tom, too many brands for just 2 years. I’ve working since 1993 and I have to agree with Mandriva.

Anyway it depends where you live or your preferences, here from Spain I’ve preferred some created in France more than other from other places.

Your source must be similar to the autor.

I used Centos 5 for business and for web servers and Mandriva for home.
