Open Source Machine Translation System OpenLogos

Saturday October 29, 2005
The powerful machine translation system OpenLogos, precursors of which have been under development for more than 30 years, is now available for Linux. The system accepts documents in various formats and produces high quality translations. It translates from English and German to the major European languages, including Spanish, Italian, French and Portugese. The system is built around a hierarchy of dictionaries and is highly flexible in that the user can add terminology for specialized subject areas. Part of the motivation for going Open Source has been to increase the participation of progammers in the development effort so that OpenSource can be extended to smaller Languages. OpenLogos can be downloaded here.
