Friday July 28, 2006
Solid Information Technology has released a beta version of solidBD for MySQL, an open source GPL licensed database engine that includes Solid's "online transaction processing" (OLTP) technology.

solidDB provides an alternative to InnoDB for applications requiring transaction management. The binary package of the beta version includes the storage engine and version 5.0 of MySQL server. The official release of the final version is scheduled for fall.

MySQL is expected to come out with its own transaction supporting and scalable database engine in MySQL version 5.1. The Falcon system will be optimized for web applications with large numbers simultaneous database accesses.
