Watching TV on Linux with Democracy Player

Monday September 25, 2006
Democracy Player, also called DTV, is a great podcast client for watching video feeds on your Linux desktop. It distinguishes itself from other pod cast clients in its powerful tools and fun to use interfaces for discovering content and creating playlists.

You can build and arrange sequences of shows to be played simply by dragging and dropping content on playlists. DTV provides easy access to a number of popular titles, such as CNN, ABC, Democracy Now!, Media Matters, Geek Brief TV, and RocketBoom. Additional content can be located using search engines. DTV will automatically find the media links.

Installation packages are available for Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, and Gentoo.

Other Podcast clients for Linux include: Juice, BashPodder, and PerlPodder. Content can be found in postcast directories, such as iPodder.org.
