Novell has announced agreements with four PC manufacturers to distribute notebook computers and desktop PCs preloaded with SLED 10 (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop).
One of those manufacturers, R Cubed Technologies, offers all of its desktop and laptop models to be delivered with SUSE Linux preinstalled. For example the LW1360 with an Intel Core Duo T2300E 1.66GHz processor, 512 DDR2 SDRAM, 60GB Hard Drive, and SUSE Linux is offered for around US $1317.
Low-end desktop PCs with SLED 10 can be obtained for as little as $490, while high-end PCs with 3.2 GHz Intel Dual Core Pentium D processors, 4 GB of DDR RAM, and dual 720 GB hard drivers are available for around $3532. Read more.
