Half Life 2 on Linux

Half Life 2 is a highly popular science fiction First-Person Shooter (FPS) game. It has won numerous awards for advances in computer animation, computer graphics, sound, physics, and artificial intelligence. Half Life 2 has been developed for and it is mainly played on Windows PCs. But recent advances in the Windows emulation software Wine have made it possible to run it on Linux as well. WINE stands for WINE Is Not an Emulator! It doesn’t emulate the windows code base instead it replaces it with custom native code!

Some well-coded win32 apps will run faster under wine than bad-coded linux apps under linux (I use to play WoW with wine with 38 fps instead of 20 in Windows…)

The last poster is correct and the blogger should embarrassed .. particularly since he’s had almost a year to correct his mistake.

Wine is NOT an emulator. If you’re going to be a tech blogger, please learn to use terms correctly.
