The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia is in the process of buying the Norwegian Linux company for $153 million. With this move Nokia will become a player in the emerging market of Linux based mobile device platforms, and provide competition to other open standards such as Google's Android.
Trolltech is the developer of the Linux-based Qtopia (Qt) user interface and mobile development framework, which was also adopted by the OpenMoko project for the Neo1973 phone.
