Install Linux inside a Windows O.S.?
Well, apart from it seems to be is a serious blasphemy and injury, it’s undoubtedly an unnecessary waste of the Linux superior features and the machine resources of memory and processing.
Don’t do this. Find free space in your hard disk, or install a new drive, make a Linux swap and a Linux native partition (ext2 or ext3), install Linux on it, make dual-boot and be happy!
Sometimes that’s not possible, we have systems where we can’t change just repartition the host because of various security regulations. In this case something like a VMWare or Colinux is the only option, it lets you install and run linux without dual booting the host or modifying the partitions. The other options like VirtualBox are good too but in some cases are too slow.
