You can download the latest version here.
Installation simply involves creating a new directory, downloading the latest .zip file (nexuis-24.zip) and extracting the content of the zip file to the new directory.
You can then start the game by running nexuiz-linux-glx.sh or nexuiz-linux-sdl.sh.
In Ubuntu you can recreate a desktop icon for it by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting "Create launcher", and filling in the fields.
