Nexuiz 2.4 Released

Nexuiz screen shot Nexuiz is a fast-paced 3D stereo FPS (first person shooter) game that offers intense fighting using a variety of weapons, similar to Quake and Unreal Tournament. It also requires strategies, such as having your team cover every entrance in a room, so you easily eliminate enemy after enemy. The detailed three dimensional graphics and stereo sound make you feel immersed in the action. The latest release includes a new menu design, two new maps, model updates, performance improvements, AI enhancements, and improved visual effects.

Nexuiz is free and open source. You can download the latest version here. Installation simply involves creating a new directory, downloading the latest .zip file (nexuis-24.zip) and extracting the content of the zip file to the new directory. You can then start the game by running nexuiz-linux-glx.sh or nexuiz-linux-sdl.sh. In Ubuntu you can recreate a desktop icon for it by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting "Create launcher", and filling in the fields. Read more...
