Verizon Joins the LiMo (Linux Mobile) Consortium

The objective of the LiMo consortium is to design a Linux-based mobile phone platform that will provide an open and unified system for software developers.
Current LiMo members include Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Samsung, Vodafone, and Panasonic Mobile Communications.
Verizon will become a core member the consortium and will occupy a seat on the board of the LiMo Foundation. Mobile phone manufactures and telecommunication companies are embracing open technologies in to order to simplify application development and encourage innovation. Read more...
