Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5 Released

Sunday September 7, 2008
The fifth alpha release of Ubuntu 8.10, code named "Intrepid Ibex", is now available. It features the latest versions of GNOME, X.Org, and the Linux kernel. Initial reviews indicate significant improvements over previous versions.

Since this is an alpha release and not a stable version, we are reminded not to install this version on production machines. The final, stable version is expected on October 30th, 2008.
