Glipper - Cut and Paste Utility for GNOME

Friday October 3, 2008
The clipboard manager Glipper is now implemented in Python and specifically designed for desktop environments based on GNOME, which includes the standard desktop of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. Glipper makes use of a plug-in system that makes it easy to expand the application's functionality by writing Python extensions. Currently Glipper is available in three languages: English, German, and Italian.

The clipboard manager Glipper is visible as a small icon on your screen and records any text you may copy with your mouse or keyboard functions. Then you can copy any of the recorded items by clicking on the application, selecting the items to be copied, and pasting them by pointing to the destination.

Klipper is the corresponding clipboard utility for the KDE desktop environment. However, you can use Klipper under GNOME as well.
