Mathematics Software SAGE Version 3.2.1 Released

Wednesday December 24, 2008
SAGE is a comprehensive Open Source software package for studying and solving math problems. It covers the basics of math, including calculus and algebra, and a wide range of advanced areas, such as number theory, cryptography, graph theory, and linear algebra.

SAGE provides both alternatives, as well as interfaces to closed source and costly math packages like Mathematica and MATLAB. The big plus of SAGE is that you can employ the common easy-to-use programming language Python as scripting language, and you can therefore easily combine advanced math applications with other programming tasks.
