EVE Online For Linux

Thursday February 12, 2009
EVE Online Screenshot Eve Online is a "massive multiplayer online game" (MMOG). Players operate in a futuristic universe, flying spaceships across alien worlds, trading, accumulating wealth, and fighting evil forces.

This game is different from typical MMOG games in that there is only one virtual world in which all players live their virtual lifes. Similar to the online game "Second Life," this virtual world persists; that is, the game continues, whether or not you are logged in and playing. You cannot reset the world and start from the beginning.

EVE game clients are available for Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems.

There is a 14-day free trail version available. Unfortunately, the regular price is rather high: $14.95 per month, with discounts for longer subscriptions.
