What is the difference between Shell Commands and Linux Commands?

Using a "terminal window" or "shell window" is an alternative way of running software and performing tasks on a computer compared with using graphical user interfaces (GUIs). Often things can be accomplished more efficiently this way, as long as you know the commands that you need for your tasks. There are thousands of commands that you can typically use in a shell window, but precisely which commands are available depends on the shell program your are running and on the Linux installation. Each shell has a built-in set of commands and each Linux distribution has a pre-installed set of commands or programs.

I love the power that offers cli, gui’s are pretty and faster, but doesn’t compare to the control you can set in a command.
Linux now has several distros that shows a very consistent graphical interface and make easier to newbies to get into the linux world, as you get more experienced, you feel a lack of control and flexibility, this can only be solved by using a cli to do what you want in the way you want.
