Follow me on:

FileZilla is a popular open source file transfer client program that provides an easy to use graphical user interface, restores interrupted file transfers, and supports SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol). Administration of multiple FTP sources and support for firewalls are provided as well. It is available for all major platforms and supports multiple languages.

FileZilla makes it easy to synchronize for example web site directories on remote servers with copies on your local computer. Complete folders can be uploaded or downloaded with simple drag-and-drop, or cut-and-paste operations. Since 2001 it has been downloaded more than 16 million times. It is already included in many Linux distributions and can be downloaded here.

Thanks for the update about FileZilla, Juergen.

I’ve been using it for years — and mewebhost has been recommending it to all of its clients — it’s truly one of the best FTP applications available. Thanks, Juergen!
