The Mercury Edition (version 7.65) of the advanced sci-fi 3D shooter game has been out for a couple months now and is worth checking out. There are numerous improvements in graphics and gameplay. The developers added new armor models and new shaders for weapons.

Like many other great 3D shooter games, Alien Arena is based on the Quake II engine and is in some ways similar to Quake III and Unreal Tournament. The game shows off amazing visual effects and offers a rich sci-fi type environment with dozens of game levels and numerous modes of play, player models, and weapons. You can fight in single player mode against the machine's AI, or connect to a server and play with other people over the Internet.

You can download the latest version from the the Alien Arena home page.
