gThumb - Versatile Image Viewer, Browser, and Editor for GNOME

Wednesday July 2, 2008
This program, now in version 2.10.8, comes in handy when dealing with images of all kinds. It is particularly well suited for importing and organizing photos from digital cameras. You can put together slide shows, create web albums, or backup your images on CD.

gThumb's photo and image editing capabilities don't compare to those of The GIMP, but you can make basic modifications, such as brightness, contrast, and color adjustments, as well as scaling and rotating.

The software also serves as a file system browser displaying image files as thumbnails so you can easily copy, move, and delete images and folders.

You can download the latest version here.
