The project FreeCol is developing a turn-based strategy game similar to Colonization. It is in the same category as the popular PC game Civilization, but with somewhat different objectives.

The players attempt to colonize America and build a powerful nation. You start with one ship and two colonists. In the early stages you can send ships back to Europe to sell goods and bring back more colonists. Your goal is to develop a nation that is strong enough to declare independence and withstand attacks by the King of England.
