"Error message"

Definition: Error message: In application programs, an on-screen message informing you that the program can't carry out a requested operation. Early copmuting systems assumed users to be technically sophisticated, and frequently presented cryptic error messages. Applications for general user should display mre helpful error messages that include suggestions about how to solve the problem.
