6.5. Searching For Files
The Nautilus file manager includes an easy and simple to use way search for your files and folders. To begin a search press Ctrl+F or select the Search toolbar button. The search bar should appear as in
Figure 6.9. The Search Bar.
Enter characters present in the name or contents of the file or folder you wish to find and press Enter. The results of your search should appear in the view pane as illustrated in
Figure 6.10. The result of a search.
If you are not happy with your search you can refine it by adding addition conditions. This allows you to restrict the search to a specific file type or location. To add search conditions click the + icon. Figure 6.11, Restricting a search. shows a search which has been restricted to the users home directory and to only search for text files.
