Adventure Quest is an extensive RPG, which lets you kill all sorts of creatures in a fantasy-like world. You can join quests, gain levels, and buy new equipment. The game seems to be very well designed. There are a huge variety of monsters (e.g., bats, skeletons, haunted trees) available for you to kill.
Gameplay
The gameplay is open-ended. You have complete control over what character to be (e.g., a warrior, mage, rouge) and what weapons to use. Admittedly, things in the game get a bit repetitive after a while. You will often battle the same monsters, and the fighting process is the same: Press attack, wait while you attack, then your pet attacks, then the enemy attacks, then repeat.Graphics and Audio
The graphics are satisfactory, but they are not the strength of this game. If you are looking for a 3D, super-realistic RPG, youll have to find it elsewhere. Each character in Adventure Quest has a number of body parts. Though the attacks are nicely animated, the way enemies die are quite awkward sometimes. The sound is very basic, with only a few sound effects.Special Feature
The creators of Adventure Quest seemed to have a lot of fun making this game. There are many quests available, each with its own bits of humor in it. However, the quests seem to have been made in a hurry, and some parts are lame.Bottom Line
This RPG is recommended for people looking for a fun RPG to play, but not for people looking for one with great graphics. It has some very unprofessional-looking graphics--ones that most people could draw themselves. For a better game, check out Dragon Fable, which was created by the same group of people that brought you Adventure Quest. Dragon Fable has much better graphics and gameplay, but holds many of the same features found in Adventure Quest does.
