Commando 3 is quite different from its earlier version, though it is still a game that requires strategic thinking and fast reflexes. You play against the AI, using an arsenal of infantry, tanks, and helicopters to destroy your enemies. Using many settings, you can possibly win over your enemy. This game is very short, but can still be fun for a long time.
Gameplay
Commando 3 has a great gameplay. You can create infantry, tanks and helicopters, each with different technologies. In the infantry section, the units range from snipers to laser troopers. In the tank section, you have everything from gatling tanks to heavy tanks. In the helicopter section, you have everything from bombers to fighters.
Graphics and Audio
The graphics are very good, yet still very basic, with everything done in a top-down view. The interface is done nicely. The audio features unit responses and all the other sound effects that fit the game well.
Special Feature
The coolest part of Commando 3 is the level design. You can start by clicking on a spot on a map of the earth and placing your customizable flag there. The special coding in the game will automatically set a course for you, guiding you through the story. You start out fighting weaker, closer enemies, and then you progress through the map, and eventually take over the world. You can see how much progress you have made simply by looking at the map at the end of each level.
Bottom Line
Commando 3 is not only an improvement of Commando 2 but also a very different game. This game has impressive graphics, a good story. Have fun beating the campaign, and fight through numerous freeplay games. I recommend it to all fans of strategy games and the other Commando games.
