In Dynasty Street, you roam around the city, destroying various enemies, with an arsenal of weapons and moves. There is a helpful radio box on the bottom of the screen that makes the game easy to play. This game brings together adventure, violence, and skills.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Dynasty Street is good, combining many different hand combat movements with a small range of weapons. Using these you can effective destroy enemies and a series of blows, and proceed through the levels with lots of kills behind you. Often the radio will give advice, like how to destroy an alarm system without setting it off. For most of the game, you won't have any weapons, but that doesn't matter much because the hand combat system is awesome. There are many ways to punch and kick through the levels. However, when you do get a weapon, it makes the game a lot easier, but only for a few seconds. Among the weapons are Uzi's, rifles, num-chucks, ninja stars, swords, and even sticks.Graphics and Audio
The graphics are decent, even though they are 2D. Some parts of it are very original, such as the enemies, which are colored blood red with pale faces. All characters are stick figures, but they still are pretty good. There is some awesome music included, as well as a bunch of sound effects that add to the atmosphere.Special Feature
The adrenaline feature is interesting enough that you probably would not mind that similar feature has been seen in some other games as well. With the adrenaline feature, each time you score damage, your character gets a little more hyped up, which is indicated by a bar next to the radio message section. Once this passes halfway, your character has his adrenaline running, and he can score special attacks. My favorite attack is the one when the character grabs the enemy, flips him over, and just before the enemy hits the floor, he kicks him again. This takes the right combination of two buttons, which is challenging but manageable.Bottom Line
This adventure game is on the violent side. But if you liked games with lots of sticks fighting around, chances are that you will enjoy this one. It is a bit short, but is still worth playing. It features many weapons and enemies. But you will never forget what to do because your handy radio will provide you with instructions. Finishing the mission alive often involves disarming alarm systems and hacking computers.
