Linux Game: Gravoor Perfect

About.com Rating four out of Five

From Andre Haas, for About.com

Although Grovoor is not a game from the Ball Revamped series, it may as well be. Although the controls are different, the goal and the obstacles are very similar. With Govoor, there are keys to open different sections and all types of other little bonuses to make each level a bit more manageable. For creative gamers, there is a level editor too.

Gameplay

The gameplay may not as easy as you would first think. Yes, all you need to move your “Gravoor” around is your mouse, but you have to avoid obstacles. Among the obstacles, the biggest ones are the walls.

Graphics and Audio

The graphics are very basic. Some components are 3D. But the game itself exists on a flat plane. The audio is good, ranging from soft music to techno during the levels. Overall, there isn't anything special about the graphics and audio.

Special Feature

The coolest part of this game is the unique variety of obstacles blocking your way to the end and the unique ways you remove them. Here are some examples: If there are boxes in your way, you can make yourself extra big, and crush them. If there is an extremely narrow section to go through, the shrinker will help you. And if there is a green-colored area, to pass which you have to make yourself green using a special bonus. Note that a level can be like a puzzle because there may be more than one color.

Bottom Line

This unique game is a combination of a puzzle and a mouse-avoider game, with a great level editor. It is great for anyone looking for fun. No special graphics, just immediate gameplay.
