Close your eyes and imagine being a stick figure in a world with Uzi's, machine guns, grenades, and even rocket launchers. Now, open your eyes and welcome to Stickman Sam. Go through numerous training missions, and then go into an extensive story with multiple missions. The graphics are very simple, with stick figures, buildings, and bridges all done with a mix of lines and fills. This addition to the popular Stickman Sam series has brought many new missions.
Gameplay
The gameplay is relatively simple. You jump, roll, and walk like in most games. Firing your weapon point-and-click, and head-shots are instant kills. There are a good variety of weapons to use in the lengthy missions. There are Uzi's and machine guns that spray out bullets, rocket launchers built for vehicle destruction, and, of course, pistols. The enemy AI is fairly basic. The helicopter follows you around, and enemies fire at you continuously.
Graphics and Audio
The graphics are very simple, everything consisting of lines and fills, with almost no gradient. I would say that the stick figures are good, and the ships are okay, but the air vehicles need work. Those are big and round, and unrealistic. The weapons are basic, consisting of lines, or in the rocket launchers case, rectangles. The audio consists of some good music and well fitting sound effects.
Special Feature
The level design of Stickman Sam 4 is very good. In your first actual mission, you’d be riding a helicopter. All of a sudden the pilot accidentally presses the cargo release button. You, as well as a whole bunch of crates, dramatically fall down, toward the forest. Your radio tells you to check the crates for parachutes. Frantically, you throw grenades at the crate while skydiving. After finding the parachute, you must wait until you get to the safe zone for a safe landing. First time players might destroy the crates too late, causing a dramatic death.
Bottom Line
If you have played any stick figure games that involve weapons, you will probably know whether or not you like this game. You roam through missions, blasting enemy infantry, helicopters, and jets. The gameplay is good, but the graphics lag behind a bit. It has all the basic weapons of an FPS game, allowing you to spray lead at enemies. This free game can be a simple joy to play.
